“When it appeared in the media that I never paid her properly, it really pissed me off.”
Constance Hall is in the news again, and not for the numbers she’s stomping out on Dancing with the Stars. Queen C is being sued again by her former friend and editor, Kristen Watts. This time it’s for defamation.
The reason for this suit is a Facebook post Constance put up in March 2018. At the time Watts was suing for unpaid royalties and Constance felt she had to respond.
In the post, Constance talked about how she and Watts met, back when she was trying to write Like a Queen.
“I was approached by Kristen Watts, who claimed to have loads of experience in creating and selling a very high volume of books for self-publishing authors, which gave me comfort,” Constance said.
“I didn’t know any printers, didn’t know how to create a book or edit one. I just wanted to write mine so I hired her.”

“It really pissed me off”
Constance went on to reveal how she brought a counter claim to Watts’ suit. “I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong … when it appeared in the media that I never paid her properly, it really pissed me off.”
In response to Constance’s post, Watts has filed another writ claiming damages, interest and an injunction that will stop Constance from republishing the defamation.
Watts’ lawyer, Nathan Ebbs, told Perth Now she’s a “reluctant litigant” who felt she had no choice but to sue because Constance has 1.3 million followers.
“In Ms Watts’ area of work, reputation is everything,” he said.
The case will start mediation next week, and Watts is hoping to resolve both claims with a confidential settlement.
“She does not want the publicity, and I suspect nor would Constance,” he said.
Constance’s lawyers didn’t respond to a request for comment.
