PORT CLINTON – Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison St., has announced its activities for May and early summer. No registration is required.

Tales for Toddlers. May 13, 20 at 10:30 a.m. and  May 6 at 6 p.m.  Intended for ages 2 and 3 with a caregiver. Siblings welcome. 

Babies and Books.  May 1, 8, 15, 22 at 10:30 a.m. Intended for ages 6 months to 23 months with a caregiver. Siblings welcome. 

Make It/Take It Craft. May 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. All leftover crafts from the year will be available. 

Sensory Story Time. Tuesday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. Story time followed by sensory play time. Intended for babies and toddlers.  Siblings welcome. 

 A Universe of Stories. Summer Library Challenge. June 1 to Aug. 31. Programs for all ages along with reading challenges for all ages to earn prizes.

A Night at the Movies. May 10 at 7 p.m. “Mary Poppins Returns” (PG). 

Make It/Take It Craft. May 16 from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m..All leftover crafts from the year will be available.

Writers Wanted: Critique Group. May 14 at 6 p.m. Writing a novel? Want to write a novel? Want to write a children’s book? Join our new monthly writers’ critique group. Led by published personal essayist and past news reporter Brenda Haas.

Pulitzer Prize Book Club. May 9 at 4 p.m. “The Ghost Writer” by Philip Roth. Pick up a copy of the book at the library.  

Family Story. Time.  May 3, 17 at 11 a.m. For babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with a caregiver. 

Books and Brews. May 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Jamestown Tavern. Bring a favorite read and discuss books with fellow book lovers. 

Essential Oils and Energy.  May 16 at 6:30 p.m. Learn how essential oils can help with energy. 

A Writer’s Life Q&A.  May 7 at 6 p.m. Have a story to tell and don’t know where to begin? Like to write for pleasure or profit and want to connect with other writers in your community?  This informal discussion group welcomes writers of all skill levels (high school age and up) to chat about the writing life or ask questions of the group.

Introduction to Online Genealogy Resources. May 16, 3 to 5 p.m. Join us to learn about Ancestry.com, an online database of historical records available for free at the library, and Fold3, an online resource for military records.  This is an informal discussion of how to use the databases followed by time to explore on library computers.
