Mavuso and his business tips – Alberton Record.

BRACKENHURST resident Isaac Mavuso’s first self-published book aims to empower entrepreneurs and those interested in starting businesses.

Mavuso, originally from Katlehong, is a facilitator, life coach and founder of Facilitator magazine. Through his book, he is dedicated to empowering beginners and aspiring township businesses and social entrepreneurs.

Building A Successful Kasi Business, a book that took him three years to write, was launched in 2018 and has made remarkable sales. The book was inspired by challenges that people face when they start a business, and the inability to manage profitable businesses in the townships.

The book focuses on 10 elements that empower entrepreneurs to understand the concept of entrepreneurship.

Basics of the book

The book’s elements include the following: self-awareness, vision, planning and organising. It also focuses on sales and money matters.

It also helps people to develop themselves, focusing on personal development and how to “delight” customers and strive for compliance and to get a mentor.

OPTIMISTIC: Isaac Mavuso is all smiles and cheerful about the future as he holds his book.

The book also helps businesses to identify weaknesses.

“Included in the book are practical activities, helpful articles and tools such as basic financial management, to inspire you to start better or become better than you are now and to run a compliant business.

“What I like most is that you don’t have to apply these elements in chronological order. You can start with the one that is important to you and your business,” said Mavuso.

He added his book does not primarily cater to township businesses.

“This is more of a workbook, one that any entrepreneur or aspiring business person can read and apply [its principles]. In business, we apply the same strategies in order to maintain success, that is why I say this book can be read by anyone from all walks of life,” he concluded.

He hopes to refine the book and to add more topics.
