Book Marketing

‘Selling is everything and everything is selling’ – Sandton Chronicle

A marketing guru and sales-driven leader Thulani Thabethe launched his book Meeting Your Business Solutions at the Michelangelo hotel on 28 March.

Thabethe is the founder of 2Larnie Solutions, a marketing and sales agency that aims to increase brand power and sales and grow small medium and large business enterprises.

The Soweto-born entrepreneur said he started out as an in-store announcer, a job that some people undermined but he made something out of it. “I went to university, but six months down the line I had to drop out due to financial difficulties. Even though it was frustrating, I kept my head up high and looked for a job. This did not stop me as I always envisioned what I wanted and got it.”

After working in sales he decided to become a leader rather than a follower. This is the first-ever marketing and sales book he has published in South Africa. It serves as an answer to entrepreneurs who are unable to market and sell products and services and also provides employers with tools can use to guide their staff to confidence and also strive for the best.

The book was motivated by the threatening problem that small, medium and micro enterprises (SMME) face – failing to sell their products due to lack of knowledge regarding sales and marketing.

Among supporters, friends and business partners the two most important people in Thabethe’s life are his parents. They said, “We are so proud of our son and everything he has accomplished.”

From townships to high-end businesses, general manager of 2Larine Solutions, P’kay Legoale explained that marketing and sales are one. “I truly believe that marketing is not a luxury if utilised properly and effectively by using campaigns across all social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. This book captures that very same essence and ideologies.”

Thabethe added that some of the challenges he faced while writing the book were finding a balance between a young start-up business and a corporate business and how to approach the different consumers.
